Type of UPS Uninterruptible Power Supply

UPS design of the model is divided into several types that produce different performance characteristics:
A. Standby
2. Line Interactive
3. Double Conversion On-Line
4. Delta Conversion On-Line
Standby UPS types
This type is commonly used by home users for the Presidency with their PC. UPS to be able to do this type of filtration against power failures and flow management, in addition to design efficient, small size and inexpensive.

Line Interactive UPS types
UPS is the type most often used in small business unit, web developer, and a number of servers located in government departments. Because, in addition to having high levels of reliability, this type also have the ability to adjust the voltage that is sufficient
fine.
UPS has an inverter is always connected to the output of the UPS system to convert the power from batteries into AC. In normal circumstances, the Inverter will perform battery charging. While in a state of power outages, Transfer Switch will close and drain power from the batteries to the UPS output. Position that is always connected to the inverter output filter provides additional power. This makes the type of UPS is widely used for server and electrical conditions are not too good.

Double Conversion type UPS On-Line
This type is most common for UPS with power more than 10kVA. These types have in common with the type of Standby. Only this type has a power source located on the inverter, not the AC power source. In this type, the main electricity supply interruption will not trigger a transfer switch for the incoming AC power to the central input to charge the batteries that provide power to the Inverter located at the output. Therefore, when the AC power is disconnected, the flow of energy will be transferred immediately without taking a break when the transfer occurs. This type of UPS above shows the performance of the average. Can be said of this type of approach the ideal of a UPS, unfortunately this type of heat is high enough.

UPS type Delta Conversion On-Line
Almost the same as the Double Conversion type, type Delta used to always supply voltage Inverter. When the power supply is interrupted, this type do the same with Double Conversion type. Delta Conversion has two functions, the first is to control the input power characteristics. While the second function is to control the input current to direct the process of charging the battery system. The thing to remember is to minimize this type of energy is wasted. In addition, it has a high compatibility to various types of generators and reduce the need for the use of cables.

LM317 to create constant current of 2mA

I have a schema where I want to have a constant current of 2mA through a variable resistor. Ive been told that I could probably use a LM317 as a current regulator, with one resistor on the ouput. But Ive read some places that the LM317 takes minimum 5-10mA load to function correctly.

How can I achieve a constant current output of 2mA when I dont know the resistance of the variable resistor?

The input voltage is about 2.755V. Output voltage doesnt matter, just the current.

The LM317 with the single series resistor between output and adjust input is actually a fixed current source, not a current limiter. You dont need the LM317 to create a current limiter, a few discrete components will do:

For a limiting at 2mA you select a 330Ω resistor for RSENSE. If there flows 2mA through it Q2 will start to conduct and reduce the base voltage of Q1, so that its current is cut off.

Maybe youre focusing too much on the LM317. If you need a constant current you could use the LM234 which is a programmable current source for up to 10mA. You set the current with a resistor.

Basic Of Power Supply Wiring diagram Schematic

I was a fan and an electronics Technician. Almost all electronic devices use Power Supply. If you want to know more about the Basic Of Power Supply Circuit Diagram , you can browse the articles in this blog. Here I am trying to write an article about the Power Supply. 

All electronic equipment requires power supplies, either from the battery or use electricity in your home. Electronic equipment usually requires certain power supply consumption. Suppose the voltage for charging mobile phones require only 5 Volt, may not 220V of electricity in your home is connected directly to your cell phone, of course it should be through the Power Supplies that have been adapted to the voltage consumption phone or other electronics, if directly connected to your mobile home electric / electronic you will explode. Except electronic equipment that is equipped with the power supply in it such as a TV, tapecorder, personal computers, VCD, etc. 

Lets see Basic of Power Supply Circuit Diagram below Electronic equipment typically uses direct current (DC) and the voltage and current of the adjustable electrical equipment condition. In the picture I show a basic schematic schema Power Supply is comprised of a transformer is used to reduce the voltage of 220V at the primary and 6V - 12V on the secondary.

So, electronic equipment required for basic of the Power Supply is:
1. Transformer (TRANSFORMER), in this case a 220V input and 12V as output
2. Silicon diodes
3. capacitors
4. Electrolyte capacitors
