Car Stereo Booster with LM2896This car stereo booster uses an LM2896 IC which has two integrated amplifiers. It can be powered with voltages up to 15 volts. The power output is 2.5 watts per channel with an 8 Ω load and supply voltage of 12 volts. Using the bridge tehnique in the circuit gives a power output of 9 watts. The car audio booster can be powered up from 3 up to 15 volts.

The load impedance that can be connected at its output can be either 4 Ω or 8 Ω. The supply voltage and the load impedance influence the output power level. This amplifier circuit is designed as a booster for auto radio/cassette players. The current consumption by maximum power output and a 4 Ω load is 1 ampere.

High efficiency stereo Class D audio amplifier


The SSM2380 is a fully integrated, high efficiency, stereo Class-D audio amplifier designed for mobile phone applications , mp3 players and other audio applications that require low output power . This class D audio amplifier  circuit requires few external components and operates from a single 2.5 V to 5.5 V supply.

SSM2380 audio amplifier  circuit is capable of delivering 2 W of continuous output power with <1% THD + N driving a 4 ohms load from a 5.0 V supply, or 1.4 watts of continuous output power on a 8 ohms load  .

The SSM2380 features a highly flexible I2C interface with many useful settings. Using the I2C control interface, the gain of SSM2380 can be selected from 1dB to 24 dB + Mute in 47 steps with no external components Other features accessed from the I2C interface are: independent L/R channel shutdown, variable ultra-low EMI emission control mode, Automatic Level Control (ALC) for high quality speaker protection, and Stereo-to-Mono mixing operation.

The SSM2380 features a high efficiency, low noise modulation scheme that requires no external LC output filters.

It’s certainly not the first wireless microphone we’ve ever published but this one is a little different. It’s stereo, providing surprisingly good quality sound. Second, it has a really good range. Its easy to build, requires very little setup... and its cheap! In fact, the low price might turn some people off, thinking its low quality. Try it - and be pleasantly surprised!

Third, it really is simple to build – the hard work (the transmitter module) is already done for you. It’s just a matter of assembling the microphone module, which contains the electret mics themselves, preamp and level controls, and soldering the transmitter module onto it, "piggy back" style.

Finally, the transmitter module is crystal-locked, so you won’t have the drift probles of some earlier wireless microphones. And just in case you were wondering, that doesn’t mean the output is locked to one particular frequency – it has a nifty synthesis schema built in to give you the choice of seven different frequencies between 106.7MHz and 107.7MHz.
On-board preset pots adjust the sensitivity of each channel to take into account mic differences or if you require different levels in each channel.

By the way, the transmitter module is quite capable of operating at line level if you want just a line level transmitter (eg, to feed an audio program around your home). Sensitivity is about 100mV. Oatley Electronics, who designed the kit, have the transmitter module available by itself if that’s what you’re after. But more on that anon.

You also have the choice of two power supply levels – 3-6V or 7-15V DC. The latter results in a lower current drain. The transmitter module also has a "5V out" rail to supply power to the preamp module.

Two electret microphone inserts are supplied in the kit. These can be soldered direct to the PC board to make it a fully self-contained project or they can be attached to the board via suitable lengths of mini shielded coax cable. A third option is to use "proper" microphones – they can be electret or dynamic types – but no provision has been made for plugging these in.

20W Stereo Amplifier Wiring diagram Schematic

The 20-W + 20-W Stereo Amplifier Circuit Diagram consists of two complete, separate 20-W RMS bridge-type amplifiers. The input signal source is brought into the amplifier through the voltage divider network, which is made up of Rl, R2, and PI. Resistor Rl provides a load impedance between the signal source and ground. Resistor R2 couples that signal to potentiometer PI.The signal is coupled by capacitor CI to the noninverting (+) input (pin 1) of internal amplifier (A) of IC1, where the signal is greatly amplified. Capacitor C2 couples the (+) input of the other (B) internal amplifier of IC1 to ground. 

That causes the input signal, which is referenced to ground, to be coupled to both amplifiers because both the inputs and outputs of IC1 (A) and IC1 (B) are connected in a bridge configuration. Notice that the output of IC1 (A) from pin 10 is connected to one side of the speaker and the output of IC1 (B) from pin 8 is connected to the other side of the speaker.

That is why the speakers used cannot have one side connected to ground. Resistors R6 and R7 set the gain of the amplifier. Resistors R9 and R10 and capacitors C9 and C10 provide frequency stability and prevent oscillation. Capacitors C6 and C7 provide bootstrapping, which prevents distortion at low frequencies. LED LI lights up by way of a series resistor connected from the anode to +12 Vdc when power is applied.Power for both IC1 and IC2 is brought in through D1 (to protect amplifiers from reverse polarity). Capacitor Cll provides additional power supply line filtering. This booster is capable of producing 20 W RMS output out of each channel.

Stereo Headphone Amplifier


Circuit Skema Rangkaian - LM4910 belonging to the Boomer series of National Semiconductors is an integrated stereo amplifier primarily intended for stereo headphone applications. The IC can be operated from 3.3V ans its can deliver 0.35mW output power into a 32 ohm load. The LM4910 has very low distortion ( less than 1%) and the shutdown current is less than 1uA. This low shut down current makes it suitable for battery operated applications. The IC is so designed that there is no need of the output coupling capacitors, half supply by-pass capacitors and bootstrap capacitors. Other features of the IC are turn ON/OFF click elimination, externally programmable gain etc.

Stereo Headphone Amplifier

Circuit diagram of the LM4910 stereo headphone amplifier is shown above.C1 and C2 are the input DC decoupling capacitors for the left and right input channels. R1 and R2 are the respective input resistors. R3 is the feed back resistor for left channel while R4 is the feed back resistor for the right channel. C3 is the power supply filter capacitor. The feedback resistors also sets the closed loop gain in conjunction with the corresponding input resistors.

Notes.
  • The IC is available only in SMD packages and care must be taken while soldering.
  • The circuit can be powered from anything between 2.2V to 5V DC.
  • The load can be a 32 ohm headphone.
  • Absolute maximum supply voltage is 6V and anything above it will destroy the IC.
  • A logic low voltage at the shutdown pins shut downs the IC and a logic high voltage at the same pin activates the IC.

LA3161 Stereo Preamplifier Circuit

LA3161 is an integrated 2 channel pre-amplifier meant for car stereo applications. The LA3161 contains a built in voltage regulator that plays an excellent role in improving ripple rejection . The IC needs minimum number of external components and the noise level is extremely low. The IC has high input impedance (around 100K) and is available in an 8 pin SIL package.

In the circuit each of the built in amplifier section are used. Capacitors C8 and C9 are input coupling capacitors. Capacitors C3 & C6 are noise filter capacitors. The lower cut-off frequency depends on the value of C3 and C6 network comprising of components R1, R2 & C1 defines the frequency characteristics of left channel and the network consisting of R3, R4 &C2 defines the frequency characteristics of the correct channel. C4 and C5 are output coupling capacitors. C7 is the power supply filter capacitor and it should be connected as close as possible to the power input pin (pin 4) of the IC. This IC doesn’t have short circuit protection, and short between pins may cause damage. C10 and C11 are meant for preventing radio interference, interference from engines etc.

The FM transmitter schema is based on low power NPN transistor 2N2222.The tank schema consisting of L1 & C1 produces the necessary oscillations at the collector of Q1.The capacitance C4 , resistance R3 & R4 performs the function of mixing the stereo out put from the audio player or i-Pod.The emitter resistance R2 provides sufficient stability to the schema.It also limits the collector current to increase the battery life.



Notes.

* Use a 28SWG , 10 cm insulated copper wire as antenna.
* For L1.make 8 turns of 20 SWG insulated copper wire on a 5mm dia plastic former.
* Power the schema from a 3V battery.
* Assemble the schema on a good quality PCB or common board.
* C1 can be a 50pF trimmer.
